I’m Karla Jean.
For over 25 years I’ve worked in rooms where hair is treated as craft — first in New York City, now here in Charleston, SC. I trained alongside John Sahag, Vivienne Mackinder, and Nick Arrojo of TLC’s What Not to Wear.
At the John Sahag Workshop on Madison Ave. I was taught to cut dry. It’s the only way to see how hair really moves — and why my extensions blend seamlessly.
My own experience with breast cancer and hair loss led me deeper into extensions — work that helps women feel like themselves again.
Outside the salon, I enjoy foraging across the Lowcountry for wild edibles and medicinal plants. Nature teaches the same lesson I bring to the chair: the best things grow slowly, with care.
BonBon is my private studio for hair that feels effortless, grows out seamlessly, and looks expensive because it is thoughtful.
